Sarah Benham

Sarah Benham was born in New Orleans and raised in rural Mississippi. She subsequently moved back to New Orleans before moving to New England, where she has lived since 1971.

Sarah studied painting in the 70's but soon thereafter her interest turned to photography. She studied with George Tice, Deborah Turbeville, Arnold Newman, Eugene Richards, and John Loengard.

Having had a career as a gallery director, interior designer, and antiques shop owner, she decided in the early 90's to return to painting.  She has studied with George Dureau, David Loffler Smith, and John Borowicz.

She was recently profiled in Design New England. Sarah is open to discussing commissions.
