Marlene Wiedenbaum

Pastels 

Marlene Wiedenbaum PSA-MP, grew up in New York City & studied with Harvey Dinnerstein at the Arts Students League. Her award winning paintings have been exhibited and collected internationally, including Taipei, Taiwan and the Xian Art Museum, China. She is an International Honorable Member of the Beijing Pastel Research Academy. In 2022 Wiedenbaum was selected by Hudson Valley Magazine as Best Artist, and she was awarded Master Circle Status by the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS).  Her work is explored in several text books and her large format pastel paintings are presented in the Fall 2025 edition of the Pastel Journal. She has also been featured in other publications including VIC Pastel, the Newsletter of the Pastel Society of Victoria, Australia, Fine Art Connoisseur, Art Times and American Artist.

Marlene’s studio and her home are on an old horse farm next to the Mohonk Preserve in the Hudson Valley which inspires her landscapes and her series in support of preserves, parks and conservation areas. She teaches pastel still life classes & plein-air workshops at the Woodstock School of Art, and sometimes at her pond. An award winning MASTER Pastelist & Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, and an Elected Member of the Audubon Artists Org., Marlene is currently serving on the Board of Governors of the Pastel Society of America and her work is included in the 2024 PSA Exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art, Giffuni Gallery in Ohio. Her work is in private and public collections throughout the world and is represented in the tri-state area. Commissions are accepted.
